January 5, 2003 - "Katrina Kicks up a Storm"
Gorgeous actress Katrina Devine is back working in the industry that made her a teen star.
Katrina - who began playing Shortland Street's Minnie Crozier as a 16-year-old and was
controversially dumped a few years back - has landed a part in American production Power
Rangers Ninja Storm.
The stunning blonde plays Marah in a plot that has ninja students fighting evil
Earth-invading aliens.
"With mankind at the brink of destruction, the fate of the world lies in the hands of these
unlikely heroes," the plotline reads.
"Their ninja master teaches them to harness ancient mystical energies that transform them
into Power Rangers."
Katrina will be able to compare Shortland Street stories with Katrina Browne - aka Jenna
Small - and Pua Magasiva - Elvis. They'll work alongside a swag of international actors on
the sci-fi television series.
The role is good for Katrina, who took a job as a shoe sales assistant in Auckland after
leaving Shortland Street. She also married fellow Streeter Blair Strang - who played
ambulance driver Rangi.
